About us.

Named after the renowned ballet critic Richard Buckle, The Dicky Buckle Fund is a small but dynamic grant-giving arts charity, founded to support the creative process of young and emerging dancers, choreographers, designers and musicians, enabling them to create original new work unhindered. New and original work that is the heart and soul and future of the industry.

What we do.

Supporting artists to create new and original work and holding events to widen access and inspire future generations, is the ethos at the heart of our work.

We Support.

The grants we award not only fund the creative process, they also support the entire chain of design, creation and education by giving emerging dancers and choreographers a platform to present their work.

We are proud to say that the majority of the new and original works presented at Ballet Under the Stars at Hatch House over the past decade, have been created by young choreographers and dancers supported by the Dicky Buckle Fund.

We Inspire and Widen Access.

We are passionate about widening access to world-class ballet and dance and each year the charity holds fundraisers and free events for children, to help educate, inspire and widen access to this incredible art form.

With thanks to the generous support of Covent Garden Dance, each July we invite over 450 children and their families to join us at our popular rehearsal afternoon at Hatch House in Tisbury, Wiltshire.

The event offers a fun and inspiring afternoon watching some of the worlds most talented artists in open rehearsals.

By holding these events, we hope to inspire the next generation of talented artists and, with sufficient funding, will continue to expand this important work within the local youth sector.
